Pictures and info on the 1801 French Calvary pistol.
The 1801 French Calvary Pistol was
a replacement for the 1777 model. This pistol was carried by most of the
Napoleon’s Calvary during the height of the empire. This replica is a beautiful
piece to own for any avid collector.
The pistol features a brun fonce stained hardwood
stock, an antiqued metal barrel and lock, and simulated brass pieces. The pistol
also comes with Manufacture imperiale de St. Etienne arsenal and rank number
markings, just like the real thing! The pistol does have removable parts that
include trigger, pan cover, and hammer. The screws and the ramrod are not
removable.
The total length of the pistol is
thirteen-and-a-half inches, and it is extremely lightweight. With being only two
pounds, it feels like the original and makes for a great prop! The pistol is not
functional and is truly for the history fan or collector enthusiast. The pistol
is available for $64.50.
