Someone lit a light bulb in Livermore,
California in 1901 not knowing that over 100 years later that light would still
be burning.
Now located in
Pleasanton Fire Department's
Station Number Six, the hand made light bulb from the Shelby Electric Company
still lights up the fire trucks at night as it did over a century ago.
Normally light
bulbs last up to 2,000 hours with fluorescents lasting up to 20,000 hours, this
bulb has now been burning for over 900,000 hours. They sure don't build them
like they used to.
