In 1986, then 2 years old, Michelle
Funk was playing near her home in Salt Lake City with her brother. They
were playing by Dry Creek when she slipped in and sank.
For 66 frantic minutes her mother, neighbors, and
paramedics tried to find her.
When she was found she had no heartbeat and her core temperature was 70 F.
She was rushed to Primary Children's Medical Center
where a machine warmed up her blood. When her temperature reached 91 F her heart
started beating and she opened her eyes.
