With the dawn of the millenium a new
sport surfaced in Japan, one which may just help reduce the population.
It's called banzai skydiving and the rules are simple:
-
Get in an airplane and climb to
3,000 meters.
-
Throw your parachute out of the
plane.
-
Wait as long as you possibly dare
before jumping out after it.
-
(OPTIONAL) Catch your parachute,
put it on and deploy it before you go splat.
The record for the longest time between
the parachute leaving the plane and the person jumping after it was set on
September 02, 2000 by Yasuhiro Kubo.
Yasuhiro Kubo waited a gutsy 50 seconds
before leaping after his chute and still managed to return to Earth safely.
