On March 11, 2007 in Steamboat Springs,
Colorado, Canadian Ross Mercer proved the
old saying "try and try again".
After 2 days and on his 76th attempt he drove his snowmobile at 126 km/h off
a five-metre high ramp, covering 80.3 metres before safely landing again.
This was enough to break the previous record of 74.6
metres and gave Ross Mercer the bragging rights for achieving the world's
longest snowmobile jump.
