NHL'S MOST GAMES PLAYED - SEASON
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
Who played the most games in one season in the NHL?
For the 1992–93 season and the
1993–94 season the NHL went to an 84 game schedule, the only two seasons
this many regular season games were played so you'd think 84 games would be the
most games played in a single season. But it's not.
During the 1992 - 93 season James Carson played 52
games for the Detroit Red Wings before being traded to the Los Angeles Kings,
playing another 34 games with them for a total of 86 games in one season.
This feat was repeated in the 1993 - 94 season by
Robert Kudelski, playing 42 games with the Ottawa Senators, then another 44
games with the Florida Panthers.
Now if you want to count playoff games as well it gets
a bit tricky so we went into overtime and found what we believe to be the
record.
During the 2003–04 season Marcus Nilson played 69 games
with the Florida Panthers then was traded to the Calgary Flames where he played
another 14 games for a total of 83 regular season games.
The Flames made it to the playoffs and advanced to the
finals where they lost to Tampa Bay lightning in 7 games. In all the Flames played 26 playoff games that season and Marcus Nilson played in all of them
giving him a record setting 109 game season.
