THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
Who was America's second President to be assassinated?
On July 2, 1881, President James
Garfield was shot by Charles Guiteau after Guiteau found out that he would not
be chosen for US consul.
He shot Garfield, who was serving
at the time as the 20th President of the United States of America and had only
been in office for a short four months.
He was on his way to his alma
mater to speak to a group of students and staff and was accompanied by many
official people, as well as his two sons. Guiteau jumped out and shot Garfield
and was arrested immediately. Two and a half weeks later on July 19, 1881,
Garfield died due to an infection the gun shot wound had caused.
