What was the world's second Oscar the Grouch?
Many may be surprised to find out
that many of the original characters of the children’s show, Sesame Street, have
been recreated or redesigned along the way to keep things up-to-date and modern
for the current day’s children. Most of these changes have been so minor that
you don’t even notice them but it’s interesting that the lovably, furry, green
monster that we’ve all come to know and love as Oscar the Grouch is actually the
second puppet that Jim Henson used as Oscar.
The
only real difference between the two is in color: the first Oscar was orange.
Other than that, he was still pretty much the same character that you see today
who sits on the sidelines and complains from his trash can outside of 123 Sesame
Street.
