WORLD'S SECOND BEANIE BABY
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
What was the world's second Beanie Baby?
Beanie Babies are lovable, cozy
small bears from the manufacturer Ty Warner that started as small, cute
creatures with individual names and birthdates. Today these cute animals still
have separate names and birthdays but they have become a phenomenon that has
taken over the collector’s world. There are over 700 Beanie Babies on the market
today and some can be quite valuable. Of course, like any collector’s item, the
better shape they’re in will collect more money and it’s said that taking off
the Ty tag which is attached to the ear of every Beanie Baby automatically
reduces their collector’s value by 50 percent. And just like other collector’s
items before them, the older the Beanie Baby, the harder they are to find and
the more valuable they become to the lucky owner. This is one reason why the
second Beanie Baby ever released is definitely considered to be one of the most
valuable.
The second Beanie Baby ever released is Brownie
although some may know it by its other name ‘Cubbie.’ Brownie is an extremely
rare Beanie Baby, not only because it was released over a decade ago in 1993 but
also because it was retired very shortly after its release. Ty later released a
different Beanie Baby named Cubbie, which was identical to Brownie except for
the tag which hangs from the ear. Cubbie was given away to children at a Chicago
Cubs game and they sell for over $100 today. The poem that Cubbie comes with
reads:
“Cubbie used to eat crackers and honey
And what happened to him was funny
He was stung by fourteen bees
Now Cubbie eats broccoli and cheese.”
