JOHN GRISHAM'S SECOND
PUBLISHED BOOK
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
What was the John Grisham’s second published book?
Although his first book, A Time to
Kill, was well-received by the public, it did not earn him the fame or the
acclamation that he has earned for himself today. The book that really made fans
and critics fall in love with John Grisham’s work was his second book, The Firm.
The book essentially outlines the
schooling and graduation of Mitch McDeere from law school. After graduation
Mitch has many options but decides to take the very tempting offer of one law
firm in Memphis who promise him a huge salary and give him many benefits, such
as his own luxury car to drive. In his early days at the firm, two of the
friends that he makes at the firm die and he later finds out about other lawyers
who have died while being employed by the firm. He becomes suspicious and starts
to do his own investigating into the deaths but by the time he passes the bar
exam, the FBI have already caught up with him and strike a deal with him to help
bring the firm down. The rest of the book outlines how they go about trying to
do just that.
The Firm was released on February 1, 1991 and in
1993, a movie based on the book came out, which starred Tom Cruise.
