WORLD'S SECOND iPOD
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
What was the world's second iPod?
After the huge explosion of
popularity and success that the original iPod caused, the people at Apple, who
make the iPod, decided that they needed to improve upon their original design
and in 2002 they released the Second-Generation iPod.
Really this iPod was much like its
predecessor, as it didn’t need all that many improvements. The body of the
gadget looked pretty much the same but the hold switch was designed differently
and the FireWire port had a cover over it. This second generation is also the
model that made the touch-sensitive wheel of the iPod so popular as its previous
model featured a mechanical wheel.
The front of the second-generation
iPod also had rounded corners and edges, just as the original iPod did. The 10GB
model of this iPod was available in the United States for $399 and there was
also a model that carried 20GB available for $499. The 5GB model of the original
iPod was still available but its price was dropped to $299.
The second-generation iPod also
didn’t come installed with iTunes but instead MusicMatch Jukebox. This was
because this model was the first available to customers who owned both Macs and
PCs.
