The second day of Christmas?
The Twelve Days of Christmas is a
beloved Christmas carol by both young and old as they try to remember all the
presents in all the days, and get them in the right order. But this Christmas
carol is more than just a memory game or a fun Christmas song. In truth, The
Twelve Days of Christmas is a very Biblical song and every present that is given
by the true love is actually symbolic of something out of the Bible. On the
second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me – two turtle doves.
The two turtle doves in the song are representative
of the Old Testament and the New Testament. These testaments make up the
complete Holy Bible and are meant to be a way for God’s history and creation to
be spread throughout the world. Doves are a very appropriate symbol for the
testaments because they are white and pure, just as The Bible is.
