WORLD'S SMALLEST FISH
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
What is the world's smallest fish?
Well it was the stout infantfish
at 8.8 millimeters until Dr Maurice Kottelat of the National University of
Singapore an his team decided to go fishing in a swamp in Indonesia in January
2006.
We all know about
the big one that got away, but Dr Kottelat and his team managed to reel this one
in.
"You don't wake up
in the morning and think, 'Today we will find the smallest fish in the world.",
Dr Kottelat was quoted saying in an interview.
The world's smallest fish, Paedocypris progenetica, a
distant cousin of the carp, measured from tiny snout to tail tip a scaly 7.9
millimeters or .311 inches.
