What is the world's smallest crocodilian?
If you have the desire to get up
close to a crocodile but you do not wish to get close to one that is bigger than
you are, you may wish to travel to Central and South America where you can find
the smallest crocodile known to man.
The smallest crocodile is the dwarf caiman or
Paleosuchus palpebrosus. Males grown no larger than 4 feet 11 inches while the
females grow to a mere 4 feet.
The countries in which these small crocodiles can
be found are Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana,
Paraguay, Peru, Surinam, and Venezuela.
