LIST OF GAME 7 EXTRA INNING GAMES
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
MLB
Game Sevens That Went Into Extra Innings
If you're a baseball fan
it doesn't get much better than the playoffs, OK, maybe it does,
game 7. And what's better
than game 7? Extra innings in game 7.
With the merger of the
National League and American League in 1903 to form Major League
Baseball came MLB's first World Series and the world's first MLB
playoffs.
We had to go into
the 7th inning stretch trying to find a list and had to go into
extra innings to compose our own, so here is the official list,
although quite short, of
all the MLB game
sevens that went into extra innings.
Only three game sevens
of the World Series went into extra innings, 1924, 1991 and 1997,
however during the 1912 World Series game 2 went into extra innings
but was called due to darkness, ending in a tie and as a result the
series went to 8 games with the Boston Red Sox defeating the New
York Giants 3-2 in the 10th inning.
