Who won the Winston Cup?

The Winston Cup's roots go back to 1949 when it started out as the Grand National series.

The first actual Winston Cup was awarded to Richard Petty in 1972 as the overall points leader.

The last Winston Cup was held in 2003, in 2004 Nextel took over as the sponsor and along with them came a new trophy.
